Frank Melton
Founder of Melton Funeral Home, Inc.
Melton Funeral Home is located in the Great Smoky Mountains of Western North Carolina, in the town of Sylva. In 1989 with a vision of offering affordable funerals to Jackson and surrounding counties, to all citizens no matter their social standing or ethnic background, Frank Melton founded Melton Funeral Home at 59 Cherry Street in Sylva, NC. Later Ronnie Riddle formed a partnership with Frank, after several years, Frank was forced into retirement by his health. Ronnie Riddle and his wife Thomasine, took over management of the funeral home. They continued the original vision in the management of the funeral home. During these years a trusting relationship was forged with the people of Jackson and the surrounding counties.
In 2009, Thomas Lee Tucker took over ownership and management of Melton Funeral Home. A funeral director with over 40 years experience, holding a funeral director and embalmer license since 1965, had been working part-time with Ronnie and Thomasine, began his management with the same vision of the last 20 years.
The funeral home has a history of serving the families in Jackson and surrounding counties with compassion, understanding, dignity, and respect during the loss of their loved ones. The goal is to assist families so that each one gets the level of attention and care they deserve. Melton Funeral Home will continue to offer affordable funerals to all citizens. Each family is provided with the opportunity to learn about and discuss the wide variety of service options available to them. Melton Funeral Home provides a full range of funeral service options, traditional religious service and cremation.
